Production Synopsis:
The Scene Betweens were a brainchild of Mary Galde as  a way to use certain open times at Broadway West Theatre when the stage was normally dark. The first Scene Betweens (SB) were two one act comedies.  The second SB was a variety show loosely put together.  For 2001 Mary, along with myself, Lori Stokes and Dave Ammon came up with the idea for a variety show based in a bar.  The bar part was critical as we were using the set from "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" which is a bar.  Re-named "Joe's Place"  the bar would have a variety of patrons that included both comical and musical acts.  We had Mickey and Judy, the spunky waitress and bus boy who really wanted to be stars.  We had Star, an alcoholic lounge singer on her way back down.  We had our resident drunk Poly, who also knew a thing or two about Shakesspeare, we had poet laureats: Bubba and Wilbur, we had two english women who did not like Signboards, we had out of work actors and we had two nerds in love!  Riding herd on all this was myself as Joe.

Using improvised dialog for  all the transitions between the various songs and comic bits.  We had four main sketches:  "Sure Thing" from "All in the Timing"  and three original pieces including my first ever "His Three Son's".  It between were shorter comic bits and songs.  While it may seem thrown together this show gained a life of its own and was an huge amount of fun!
