| Production Synopsis: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Maxwell Anderson's distrubing story of a little girl who is not sugar and spic and everything nice. Coutney Stokes played the little girl and was so convincing many patrons were afrais to shake her hand afterward. Courtney's mother Lori, who I co-strred in "Deathtrap" and "To Gillian On Her 37th Birthday" with, got to play Mrs. Daigle, the mother of the boy that Rhoda (teh Bad Seed) drowned for his penmanship medal. Dawn E. Cates received her first lead at Broadway West as the Mother, Christine. I playe dthe Criminologist Reginald Tasker, and unforgiving role that is essentially all exposition. the play was directed by Alan Perez, who unfortunately was not very engaged in the project and at times the cast felt like they were directing the paly themselves. i personally rceived no notes from Alan and while I like to think I am a pretty good actor i am not stupid enough to think I could not improve with direction. Once the production run started, however, it was a farily enjoyable show and the crowds liked it. Especially Jim Woodbury as the creepy handyman and the aforementioned Courtney Stokes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
