Antony and Cleopatra
by William Shakespeare
When: June/July 2002
Where:
Subterranian Shakespeare, LaValles, Berkeley CA
Who: Director: Joy Meads
Cast:  Stanley Spengler, Scott Daniel, Pamela Wylie, Nina Breton, Ross Arden Harkness, Zach Gossett, Nikolai Lokteff and many others.
Production Synopsis:
Director Joy Meads called this "the best damn production of Antony and Cleopatra ever held in a rat infested basement of a pizzeria or the sailors don't call me skippy!".  That about sums it up!  It was a whole bunch of fun for me as I played four parts including Lepidus, Scarus, a messenger and the Clown who brings Cleopatra the asps.  Below you will find two pictures of me as Lepidus, the rather befuddled third member of the Triumvirate.

(Above) Dig the Toga! Lepidus (Ross Arden Harkness) mediates between Antony (Stanley Spengler, left) and Octavius (Zach Gossett) as Agrippa (Scott Daniel) and another (Jason Barba) look on (photo by Nina Breton)
This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship!  Although Lepidus would be in prison and Antony dead by the end of the play!(photo by Nina Breton)
