| Production Synopsis: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The dustbowl drama was my first show for Northside Theatre Company but my second show with Director Dinna Myers. It was a wonderful experience and a truly superb show. The show sucks you into the lives of these people and makes you forget about the tradegy that is about to unfold. An excellent story about faith and family. The set was very unique. It had two levels. The top level was two wooden platforms stage left and stage right. The stage in between the platforms was covered in actual dirt!. This dirt continued downstage till it became a river bank. The lower part of the stage was a wooden platform painted to indicate it was a river. A river gobo added to the illusion. In with the dirt was rocks forming the streambed. On the top of the riverbank, stage left, was an area of dirt which was deep enough for the actors to dig a hole for the well that was used through the play. |
